AlfaRep

Description: One component, cement-based, pre-bagged, ready to use REPAIR Mortar with NO LIME. When mixed with the correct amount of water, it produces a thixotropic, high strength mortar, reinforced with acrylic fibers. Classified as R4 repair mortar according to ΕΝ 1504-3.

Advantages:

      - High Adherence and resistance

      - Resistance to shrinkage

      - Water Resistance

Range of Application:  ALFAREP has very low permeability and is suitable for repairing concrete elements and generally wherever high strength is necessary. Suitable also for concrete repair smoothing coat/leveling mortar.

  • ALFAREP can be applied by spraying machine or hand troweling, in thicknesses up to 20 mm in one layer. Greater thicknesses can be achieved by applying more than one layer. When applying by hand ALFAREP must be forced tightly into the substrate to ensure intimate contact with the pre-wetted substrate.
  • Final finishing should be carried out with a trowel covered with sponge or made smooth with a steel trowel’s edge.
  • The surface should be lightly dampened, for 2–3 days, beginning 24 hours after application, especially in hot weather, with intense evaporation.

Substrates Preparation

  • Substrate must be mechanically sound, free of loose particles, grease, oil or other materials that reduce the adhesion.
  • To avoid immediate absorption of mix water by the substrate and for better adhesion saturate the surface to provide a saturated surface dry condition.
  • All the concrete steel structure should be cleaned from rust and after to be primed with a special primer for iron protection.

Preparing the mix

  • Pour the material into clean water and mix (mix in a concrete machine for big quantities or with a low speed electric mixer for small quantities) until a homogeneous lump free mix is obtained.   Allow mixture settle for 5 minutes prior the application. Attention! Additional water will make your mixture sloppy and may cause negative results on final strength.
  • Use the mixture when is still fresh. Do not leave the mix unmixed for a long time.
  • Do not mix with water or latex additive when the mixture starts to set in the bucket. In such case the mix should be dropped.
