Thermo 3rd Hand

Description

Cement base 3rd hand plaster for interior-exterior use. It conforms to European Standard ΕΝ998-1 specifications.

Advantages

  • Ready for application.
  • Stable standardized properties.
  • High Adherence and resistance.

Range of Application

Used for internal-external applications, for smoothing and flattening of 2nd hand plastered surfaces (thermal insulated or not).

Final Performance

  • Adhesion strength: 0.3 Ν/mm²  – FP:B
  • Compressive strength: CSII
  • Water absorption: W0
  • Thermal conductivity(λ10,dry): 0.45 W/m∙K
  • Apply by hand using a float or a trowel in two coats. The 2nd coat is applied only when the first one has been set.
  • After sufficient setting has occurred (time depends upon the weather conditions, the thickness of the applied plaster and the substrate), the plaster is smoothed by hand, using a hard wet sponge float in circular motion. For better results use a dry sponge float afterwards. If the plastered surfaces are not smooth enough use a metallic brush, before smoothening them with the sponge float.
  • The surface should be lightly dampened, for 2–3 days, beginning 24 hours after application, especially in hot weather, with intense evaporation.

SubstratesPreparation

  • Substrate must be mechanically sound, free of loose particles, grease, oil or other materials that reduce the adhesion. All surfaces must be free of cracks and flat as possible.
  • To avoid immediate absorption of mix water by the substrate and for better adhesion saturate the surface to provide a saturated surface dry condition.

Preparing the mix

  • Pour the material in to a clean water and mix (mix in a concrete machine for bigq uantities or with a low speed electric mixer for small quantities) until a homogeneous mix is obtained.   Allow mixture settle for 5 minutes prior the application. Attention! Additional water will make your mixture sloppy and may cause negative results on final strength.
  • Use the mixture when is still fresh. Do not leave the mix unmixed for al ong time.
  • Do not mix with water or latex additive when the mixture starts to set in the bucket. In such case the mix should be dropped.
