Brushable, cement-based mortar for anti-rust protection of concrete reinforcement. Also acts as a bonding promoter between the old and new  mortar or concrete in repair works.

  • Excellent adhesion to the substrate
  • Zero shrinkage
  • Optimum protection against water penetration

  • In repair works, to protect the reinforcement from corrosion in cases such as: damages from earthquake, carbonization and failures during application.
  • As a bonding agent between old and new concrete layer or mortar.
  • Use preventively on the reinforcement of structural elements that exposed to high humidity.

  • Application temperature: +5ºC-+35ºC
  • Consumption:

                                 - As reinforcement corrosion protection: 80-100 gr/m reinforcement

                                 - As binding coat: 2 kg/m2

Application on reinforcement

  • Cover the reinforcement in two coats with maximum thickness 1mm each. Second coat is applied when the first has sufficient dry (time between two coats about 2 hours).

Application as a bonding agent

  • It is recommended to saturate the substrate before application. With brush apply one coat of ALFA FERRE, with maximum thickness 2mm.

Substrates Preparation

  • Reinforcement must be stable, free of rust, dust, grease etc. Sandblast all reinforcing rods that need to be treated with ALFA FERRE.
  • Concrete must be clean, free from loose particles, dust, grease etc.

Preparing the mix

  • Gradually add ALFA FERRE into water under continues stirring until a uniform lump free paste is obtained, so thick that it sticks to the emulsion brush without dropping.
